If you’re reading this, I will assume congratulations is in order!
A new baby is just the most amazing experience and the first few weeks fly by in a flurry of midwives, visitors and getting to know this new little bundle of absolute joy. In the blink of an eye that precious newborn stage has passed you by. I can’t tell you how many people have said to me ‘I wish I had done a newborn shoot with my little one, but I just didn’t get around to booking it’. So I always encourage people to book in just after their 20-week scan in order to guarantee you a spot in my diary. Whilst I’ll always do my best to fit you in, I’ve had to turn people away in the past as I’ve just not had the availability. I only book a limited number of newborn sessions per month so that I can be as flexible as possible.
I am fully trained in newborn photography and safety, and as a mummy myself, am very aware how special these little bundles are. I offer a very relaxed style shoot, focussed on you and your baby in the comfort of your own home- no need to pack your 'Mary Poppins' bag on this occasion.
How long does a Newborn Photography session take?
I allow 2-3 hours for my newborn sessions which gives us plenty of time to feed, settle and pose your precious baby. I am more than happy to include a few parent and sibling images in your session- although the real focus will be on your baby.
How old should my baby be for the photoshoot?
Ideally these type of sessions are conducted when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old for those real sleepy, fresh newborn images and the stage that really does fly by the quickest.
How do I book?
If you would like to secure your newborn photoshoot with me, then do get in touch. I can check my availability for you around your due date, I take a £65 session fee at this point and your booking is then secured (please note no products or images are included in this price, it only includes my time, the editing and full use of props). As we know babies can be very unpredictable about their arrival dates, but when they do arrive just let me know and we can then schedule in your photoshoot date itself.
I offer a wide range of colours and set ups and always ask you as a client for your preferred style or colour theme prior to your session. I am also happy to include personal items you may have or a particular set design, I love a creative challenge!
You can see plenty more examples of my work on my social media platforms here;
As well as the blog page on my website of course- https://www.jodiedonovanphotography.com/blog
Pricing and package options
After your photography session, I go away and edit each image by hand, and around 2 weeks later, you will receive an online gallery of your final images, they will of course be watermarked but you will then be able to decide which package you would like to purchase- knowing exactly what is on offer. Once full payment is made I will then remove the watermark from your chosen images and you will be able to download them in both high res format as well as social media for you to then use and print as you wish!
Booking is confirmed once I receive your £65 session fee, this includes my time and skill on the day, the editing and use of my collection of props. It does not include any products or images, you can then choose a collection as set out below which best suits you;
